2008 Football Team Reunion set for Oct. 13-14
WICHITA, Kan. – A reunion of the 2008 KCAC Champion Friends University Football team will take place on Oct. 13-14 with a variety of activities planned to honor a special year.
The 2008 Falcons won the KCAC regular season championship with a 9-0 conference record and finished the regular season at a perfect 10-0 overall, pummeling the opposition by a whopping 30.4 points per game in league play and 29.6 points per game overall in the regular season.
The Falcons finished the season and headed to the NAIA national playoffs ranked fifth in the nation before falling to Northwestern Oklahoma State University in the postseason.
That team boasted four All-KCAC first-team offensive players (QB Alex Melugin, WR, Abe Kersting, & OL Jacob Bruster and Chad Tormey), five All-KCAC defensive performers (DB Cole Perry, LB Seneca Collins & DL Blake Gordon, Michael Hecht and Jordan Highley) along with the KCAC Coach of the Year Monty Lewis.
