WICHITA, Kan. — Friends University Women's Soccer opened its 2026 season tonight (Aug. 23) at Adair-Austin Stadium, hosting an NCAA Division I opponent for the first time in Friends University history as the Falcons took on the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles. The Falcons battled but ultimately fell 4-0 to the Golden Eagles.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kaitlyn Martinez made her Falcons debut, recording seven saves while facing 11 shots on goal.
Kieley Aranda recorded two shots, while
Yaretzy Tejeda added one shot on goal.
Oral Roberts took a 2-0 lead in the first half before adding two more goals in the second half. Martinez made several key saves throughout the match to keep the Falcons within reach, but Friends was unable to find the back of the net.
The Falcons return to action Thursday, Aug. 27, against Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City, Okla. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
