School of Champions: Falcons capture 2025-26 KCAC Commissioner’s Cup

WICHITA, Kan. – For the first time since the 2021-22 campaign, the KCAC Commissioner's Cup will return to Wichita, as the Friends University Falcons finished on top with a cup record 196 points, nine points clear of second-place Kansas Wesleyan University. This is the sixth KCAC Commissioner's Cup for Friends, the most in the league since the competition began in the 2012-13 season.

"Winning the KCAC Commissioner's Cup is a testament to the dynamic culture, effort and dedication of our student athletes, coaches, staff and athletic department," said Dr. Amy Bragg Carey, Friends University President. "I believe we have some of the best coaches and staff within the entire NAIA and I'm proud that the hard work of our teams this season has culminated with this award."

Friends was fourth at the conclusion of the fall season but surged to first thanks to a strong winter season performance and managed to find itself still on top at the end of the spring semester.

"Winning the Commissioner's Cup is a credit to our coaches, student-athletes, and staff across our campus," said Dr. Rob Ramseyer, Friends University VP of Athletics & Strategic Expansion. "In the same year, we also posted the highest student-athlete program evaluations on record and one of the best cumulative GPAs in the last ten years. That's a full picture of what we want our athletic department to be, and I'm proud of our team."

The Falcons won a myriad of championships this season, with Football, Men's Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field, Men's Wrestling and Men's Golf all winning league titles this season to boost Friends in the cup standings.

Also fueling the Falcons' record point total were strong conference runner-up showings from Women's Soccer, Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball, meaning 10 of the school's 21 sports that factor into the KCAC Commissioner's Cup standings finished no worse than second in the conference.

"Friends winning the Commissioner's Cup is a true testament to the hard work that starts at the top of their Athletic Department: from their AD and department administration staff to their coaches," said Brandon Buchanan, KCAC Commissioner. "Friends continues to do it the right way. Friends' student-athletes have shown the constant pursuit to be the best. Their immense successes this past year speak volumes about their hard work paying off both in and out of the classroom and on the field of play. I'm very proud to say that Friends University has won our 2025-26 KCAC Commissioner's Cup."
