York, Neb. – It was quite a day for the Friends University Falcon Competitive Cheer and Dance teams today (Mar. 14) at the KCAC Championships, and the biggest news didn't involve a score as Competitive Cheer head coach Joshua Johnson and Competitive Dance head coach Taylor Stuchlik were named the KCAC Coach of the Year for their respective sports. On top of that, Stuchlik's Dance Falcons received the prestigious KCAC Team of Character award.
The competition saw both the Falcon Cheer and Dance squads finish third in the league. The Falcon Cheer squad scored 83.94, while the Falcon Dance team posted a score of 80.26 to secure the program's best-ever conference finish since its inception in the 2022-23 season.
Additionally, Kierstin Lindseth earned first-team All-KCAC Cheer honors and Amaiya Rohan was a second-team selection for the Falcons. Hannah Giles and Londyn Chapman were each honorable-mention choices for the Falcon Cheer team.
For the Dance Falcons, Rachel Quinn earned All-KCAC honorable-mention honors.
The Cheer Falcons aren't done yet, as they're set to compete in the NCA Nationals on Apr. 8-11 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
