KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Friends University Falcons have climbed three positions to No. 17 in the latest NAIA Men's Wrestling Rankings, released yesterday (Jan. 1) by the national office. The No. 17 ranking is the highest on record for the fifth-year program.
Under third-year head coach Tyler Mies, the Falcons are coming off a solid performance at the "Battle in the Bluegrass" in Corbin, Ky. that featured a third-place team finish and Cayleb Atkins winning the 157-pound class and Jason Bowers coming in second in the 184-pound division.
Braydon Pacheco (12th, 125 pounds), Braden Ledford (21st, 125 pounds), Wyatt Gardner (17th, 141 pounds), Atkins (14th, 157 pounds), Bowers (22nd, 184 pounds) and Logan Davidson (18th, 197 pounds) are also currently ranked in the NAIA in their respective weight classes.
The Falcons are next scheduled to be in action at the Jet Open at Newman University on Sunday (Jan. 4) in Wichita.
