Friends FCA program welcomes largest intern class for 2025-26

WICHITA, Kan. – The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) program at Friends University is set to hire six interns for the 2025-26 season, the biggest class of student-athletes in its history.

Operated by Keith Townsend, the first year focuses on FCA's philosophy of ministry called E3: Engage, Equip, Empower. The next three years is focused on Christian worldview training using three different Summit Ministries books with information on how to apply the Christian worldview to everyday life.

The new interns will also assume responsibilities of running the weekly campus FCA meetings at Friends and participate in outreach through FCA Mini-Conferences, which feature high school and middle school kids and coaches coming from across the state for a weekend of inspiration during the fall and spring school year.

"We made history!" said Townsend. "This is our biggest class of Friends FCA interns ever, we usually try to get two per year and we were blessed to get six for this season. The group was too good to pass on, so we decided to go for it all."

The following student-athletes are scheduled to be Friends FCA interns for the upcoming 2025-26 school year:

Sam Wright (Track & Field)

Biruk Dietz (Basketball)

Thomas Burk (Track & Field)

Logan Reynolds (Wrestling)

Bryce McConnell (Basketball)

Jace Douglas (Track & Field)
