Falcons Hand Oklahoma Wesleyan Its First Conference Loss in Doubleheader Split

Dexter, Kan. - Friends opened the doubleheader with a statement win, defeating Oklahoma Wesleyan 6–2 to hand the Eagles their first conference loss of the season. The Falcons delivered a balanced offensive performance, scoring in four straight innings. Priscilla Mora led the charge with a home run and two RBIs, while Cadence Magana, Alex Vick, and Elena Montoya all added doubles.

On the mound, Riley Wertz was solid as ever, tossing a complete game with seven strikeouts, one walk, and only two earned runs across seven innings. This win marked a key moment in KCAC play as Friends displayed power paired with poise to bring down the previously unbeaten Eagles in conference action.

Oklahoma Wesleyan responded in Game 2 with a strong showing of their own, using a big six-run fifth inning to pull away from the Falcons in a 9–1 final. Elena Montoya was the lone run producer for Friends, going yard to put the Falcons on the board.

Friends used three pitchers in the second game—Kierstan Weitze, Jenna Ormiston, and Riley Wertz—but OKWU's bats proved relentless, with multiple extra-base hits including a home run from Reagan Rector and Taryn Rhodes.

Despite the loss, Friends split the series and remains firmly in the mix near the top of the KCAC standings.
