Wichita, Kan. — In a day filled with celebration and unexpected weather, Friends took down McPherson 11–5 in a rain-shortened six-inning contest on Saturday afternoon. The win moves the Falcons to 31–10 overall and 19–4 in KCAC play.

With storms rolling in, the Falcons wasted no time making a statement. Becca Dunn led the charge, going 2-for-4 (2HRs) with 7 RBIs, including a grand slam home run that broke the game open. Priscilla Mora also went deep for the Falcons. Cadence Magana tripled and added two hits and two runs scored, while Jayden Estabrook, and Izzy Jones all contributed RBIs in a balanced offensive effort. The game was called in the sixth inning due to rain, not a run-rule decision, as heavy weather forced an early end just after Friends posted four more runs in the bottom half.

Friends celebrated its seven graduating seniors with a heartfelt Senior Day ceremony held under the gazebo, adjusting from the usual on-field celebration due to the rain.

Game 2 was postponed and will be resumed on Monday at 5:00 p.m. against the McPherson Bulldogs, still home at TRYC.
