TULSA, Okla. – The Friends University Falcons squared off with the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles in an exhibition this morning (Nov. 3) in Tulsa, Okla. and eventually fell 97-65.
The Falcons hung tough early, trailing just 13-12 at the 2:59 mark of the first quarter and then 15-12 heading to the second period.
It was still just a 27-23 deficit following two free throws by Lauryn McIver when the Golden Eagles began to pull away with a 13-2 run to build a 40-25 lead and went on to a 42-28 edge at the half.
ORU then outscored the Falcons 32-16 in the third quarter to put it away.
McIver led the Falcons with 20 points and four steals, with Katie Weiss hitting three shots from the perimeter for nine points and Rayland Garner also scored nine with a team-high eight rebounds. KK Peeler recorded three assists for Friends.
A'Maya Holton led four Golden Eagles in double-figures with a double-double of 26 points and 11 boards and Jalei Oglesby added 19 points.
The Falcons will next host No. 12-ranked Hastings College Wednesday evening (Nov. 5) at 5 pm inside the Garvey Center.
