Wichita, Kan. - Friends University Men's Wrestling went against Newman University for their first dual meet of the season, "The Battle of Kellogg" ended in a Falcons victory over the Jets of Newman 27-17. There was a ruckus crowd in the Newman gymnasium for this battle.

Braydon Pacheco (125 lb) set the tone for the night with a dominant 13-0 major decision. Pacheco's scrambling and pace gave the Falcons an early 4-0 lead. 

Wyatt Gardner followed him up in the 141 lb weight class with a major victory of his own, winning 9-0. Friends would lead 7-3 after three matches.

Brady Duling (149 lb) and Cayleb Atkins (157 lb) both grabbed massive Falls in back to back matches to give a commanding 20-3 lead for the Falcons. 

Jason Bowers (184 lb) would seal the deal with his 14-1 major decision starting the Falcons off on the right foot to start the season.

Falcons Men's Wrestling will travel to Iowa over the weekend for the Grand View Open. Wrestling starts at 9 AM on Saturday November 15th.
