WICHITA, Kan. — The Friends University Falcons fall 0-2 to the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles on Wednesday (Oct. 8) at home. The Eagles came into the match ranked #8 in the NAIA, meaning the Falcons were in for a tough battle.
Oklahoma Wesleyan scored both goals in the first half, and were able to shut down the Falcons, who managed only one shot on goal throughout the match. The Eagles' defense held strong, preserving the clean sheet against the Falcons.
Alexa Fonseca recorded a shot on goal, giving the Falcons an opportunity to get on the board.
Alayna Runck and
Samantha Jones were also able to get a single shot each.
The Falcons' defense did keep the Eagles off the board in the second half, with goalkeeper,
Morgan Wilkinson, playing a pivotal role in goal, recording four saves in the match.
The Falcons will be back at home Saturday (Oct. 11) to host the Sterling College Warriors. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7:00 PM in Adair-Austin Stadium.
