WICHITA, Kan. — The Friends University Falcons secured a dominant 6-0 victory over the Sterling College Warriors to claim their 4th conference win of the season. The Falcons jumped out to a strong lead with four first-half goals and added two more in the second to put the game out of reach.
The Falcons' defense was solid all game, limiting the Warriors to two shots the entire game. Freshman goalkeeper
Camila Apple recorded her first two career saves as a Falcon, helping the team earn the shutout.
Friends out shot Sterling 36-2, with 19 of those shots on target.
Yaretzy Tejeda and
Kieley Aranda led the Falcons' attack, each scoring two goals. Aranda led the team in shots with five shots, three on goal.
Paige Putter and
Trinity Granger also found the back of the net, with Granger also recording an assist. In total, six Falcons recorded assists, highlighting a balanced and effective offensive performance.
The Falcons will be back on the road Wednesday, (Oct. 15) as they travel to Kansas City, Missouri to take on the Avila University Eagles. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 12:00 PM.
