Box Score York, Neb. - Falcons Men's Soccer came up short to conference opponent York University in a 4-2 loss. Falcons showed promise with their offense once again on the road out shooting their opponent for the third straight game.
The Panthers started the scoring in the 17th minute by Joao Vitor Tavares, giving the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Just five minutes later York would score another goal giving them the 2-0 lead. Falcons goalkeeper Arturo Pombo-Palomero had four saves in this match while going against 14 shot attempts. Friends would go into half down 2-0.
York quickly made it 3-0 out of half, however Nathaniel Stephens would put the Falcons on the board with a goal in the 52nd minute. York made the lead back to three minutes later making the score 4-1. Andres Michael Xibilia would score the final goal of the game in the 63rd minute. Jose Quiel would have assists on both Friends goals in this game. Quiel's return has spiked the Falcons offense, the Falcons just looking to put it all together as conference play heats up.
The Falcons (1-8-1) KCAC (1-3-1) return to Wichita next game on Wednesday, October 5th. They will play Oklahoma Wesleyan University at Adair-Austin Stadium @7:30 PM.
