Garner powers Women's Basketball Falcons to 88-67 win at Baker

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. — Rayland Garner scored 29 points to lead the Friends University Falcons to their second straight victory to begin the 2025-26 season, a convincing 88-67 win over the Baker University Wildcats this evening (Oct. 30) in Baldwin City, Kan. The 29 points scored is just one shy of Garner's career-high, achieved on Jan. 6 of 2024 vs. York University.

Trailing 14-12 at the 3:30 mark of the first quarter, the Falcons tightened up and scored the final seven points as a layup by Raegan Bugaj made it 19-14.

Friends wouldn't trail again and got another layup by Bugaj to open the second quarter and extend the overall surge to 9-0 before jumpers by KK Peeler and Abigail Barr pushed the edge up to 27-15. Threes by Katie Weiss and Jadyn Glasgow helped the Falcons maintain a 12-point lead of 39-27 at the break.

The Falcons increased the lead in the third quarter by one point and Garner played the role of closer with 16 of her 29 points in the final period to seal the victory.
