WICHITA, Kan. — The Friends University Falcons earned a 1-0 victory over the Evangel University Valor on Wednesday night (Oct. 22), extending their conference winning streak to four games.
The Falcons' struck first in the first half one goal came in the first half with
Alexa Fonseca scoring the lone goal of the match off the assist from
Kieley Aranda. Aranda also recorded one shot on goal, while
Trinity Granger led the team with four shots.
Defensively, the Falcons were held strong, holding Evangel to just two shots the entire game, both coming in the second half. Goalkeeper
Morgan Wilkinson posted a shutout, making one save to secure the clean sheet.
With the win, Friends improves to 9-3-3 overall, and 7-1-2 in conference play as the regular season nears its conclusion with three regular season matches remaining.
The Falcons will be back at home on Saturday (Oct. 25) to take on the Tabor College Bluejays, wrapping up their regular season home slate. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 PM, with the Senior Day presentation taking place following the match.
