North Newton, Kan. - Friends Falcons traveled up north for a tilt against the Threshers of Bethel. The Falcons would capture their 3rd shutout of the season with three saves from goaltender, Arturo Pombo-Palomero. The Falcons offense would keep up their aggressive attack as they had 22 shots in this game.
Senior and leading goal scorer for the Falcons, Sora Shibata would strike first in the 18th minute of play, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Felipe Calderaro would follow up with his 4th goal of the season in the 30th minute. The Falcons had 13 shots in the first half compared to Bethel's four.
In the 2nd half the Falcons kept their foot on the gas right away as Sora Shibata would score again just 34 seconds to start the final half. Falcons up 3-0 as their offense has really found their stride in the late part of the season. Defensively the last three games for the Falcons they have only let up 1 goal and allowed 8 shots.
The final goal of the contest would be scored by Jayden Phrakonkham, scoring in back to back games for the Falcons. The final would end up as 4-0 in favor of the Falcons. Friends Men's Soccer (4-9-1) KCAC (4-4-1) will be back in Wichita to go against Evangel on Oct. 22. Kick off will be at 5:00 PM at Adair-Austin Stadium.
