Pittsburg, Kan. – Friends University sophomore Carter Giittinger captured the Men's Pole Vault individual title this past weekend (Jan. 25) as the Friends University Falcons competed at the NAIA/JUCO Challenge at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan.
Fresh off of finishing fourth in the Heptathlon with three PRs in his last competition at the Shocker Multi's (Dec. 4-5), Giittinger hit a PR Saturday in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.33m that stands as the second best result in the KCAC this season.
Leshaon Davis also hit a PR with a top-three finish in the Men's Shot Put (15.21m), with Julian Winters coming in right behind Davis and recording a PR (15.13m) while finishing third in the Men's Weight Throw (16.86m).
For the Falcon Women, Jada Perez (1.52m) finished tied for second in the High Jump and Aaliyah Ramirez came in fourth in the Pole Vault. Abby Green (14.96m) also produced a top five showing in the Weight Throw for the Falcons.
The Falcons are next scheduled to compete at both the Herm Wilson Invitational (Jan. 30-Feb. 1) in Wichita and the Washburn Open and Multis on Jan. 31 in Topeka, Kan.
