WICHITA, Kan. – Just one day after scoring both goals in the Friends University Falcons' 2-1 victory over the University of Saint Mary Spires in the KCAC women's soccer quarterfinal match, Keily Larosee finds herself on the All-KCAC Women's Soccer first-team, the conference office announced today (Nov. 6).
Lauryn Erickson and Kylie Lewis were second-team selections, while Gianna Honda, Pilar Flores, Faith Smith and Nia Baker each earned honorable-mention recognition.
"Keily has proved herself in every season since she's been here and I know she's thankful for a first-team selection," said Friends women's soccer head coach Brent Hobson.
Larosee, the Falcons' all-time modern era career goals (57) leader, ranks second in the KCAC this season in both goals (16, career-high) and points (34). The ultimate clutch player, half of Larosee's 16 goals on the year have been game-winners.
Erickson and Flores each have one goal and three assists, with Honda scoring one goal and serving as a key component along the Falcon midfield.
Lewis and Smith are a potent Falcon defensive duo that has contributed to 10 shutouts this year, while Baker ranks third in the KCAC with an 0.86 goals-against average along with 35 saves during her 838:16 in the net.
"Kylie is our leader and I believe she's been an all-conference player for four years," said Hobson. "It's quite an accomplishment. It's always tough to get recognition as a center mid so it's nice to have three players get selected."
The fourth-seeded Falcons will next face the top-seeded and No. 7-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles in the conference semifinals Friday (Nov. 8) at Scheels Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita for a 5 pm kickoff.
