Ottawa, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons hammered the Calvary University Warriors 126-39 for the largest victory for the program in the modern era on the final day (Nov. 2) of the Andy Carrier Memorial Basketball Classic at Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan.
Facilitating the rout was Cahlese Lee, who exploded for a career-high 28 points in just his third game as a Falcon.
The Falcons were in complete command from the outset, leading 12-2 early and then extending all the way to a 65-19 lead at the break.
Friends then opened the second half on a 11-4 run and never looked back.
The final 87-point margin represented the Falcons' largest lead of the night.
Seven Falcons scored in double-figures, led by Lee's 28-point output. Will Mays (15 points), and newcomers Ring Deng (15 points, nine rebounds), Josh Price (12 points) and Owen Evans (11 points) also made an impact tonight for Friends. Kee'on Hutton added 12 points and KJ Spiller scored 11 one night after tallying a career-high 30 points in the Falcons' victory over Kansas Christian College. Another new addition, Randy Woolf Jr., led Friends with five assists on the night.
Nathan Ulrich was the lone Warrior in double-figures.
The Falcons shot a robust 67.7 percent (44-of-65) from the floor and 60.7 percent (17-of-28) from three while stifling the Warriors to 25 percent (14-of-56) overall and 0-8 from three-point distance.
Friends also limited Calvary to just 19 rebounds while amassing 52 rebounds themselves along with 18 offensive boards.
Next up for the Falcons is a road matchup at Haskell Indian Nations University Saturday night (Nov. 9) at 7:30 pm in Lawrence, Kan.
