Women’s Soccer Falcons stay unbeaten in KCAC with 6-0 rout of McPherson on Homecoming Saturday

WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons celebrated Homecoming Saturday with a 6-0 thumping of the McPherson College Bulldogs tonight (Oct. 5) at Adair-Austin Stadium. In the process, the Falcons run their KCAC regular season unbeaten streak to 18 games.

First-Half Goals Set the Tone: The Falcons took an early lead when Keily Larosee scored in the seventh minute, breaking the deadlock with a precise finish. Pilar Flores then doubled Friends' advantage at the 26:54 mark minute with an assist from Larosee, sending the Falcons into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

Relentless Second-Half Attack: The Falcons came out strong in the second half, adding four more goals to their tally. Larosee notched her second goal of the game in the 48th minute, assisted by Elise Murrietta.

Gianna Honda and Lina Willemsen then each found the back of the net before Lizzy Priddy put the finishing touches on the victory with her first career goal to secure a comprehensive victory for the Falcons (8-2, 5-0 KCAC).

"Solid team performance tonight," said Friends women's soccer head coach Brent Hobson. "We weren't necessarily happy with a 2-0 lead at halftime and we wanted some urgency to put the game away in the second half. We came out strong in the second half and played well."

Key Performances

Larosee led the charge for Friends with two goals and an assist.

Willemsen contributed a goal and was a constant threat with six shots, three on target.

Nia Baker kept a clean sheet with one save for the Falcons.

The Falcons also dominated possession and set pieces, recording seven corner kicks to McPherson's one.

"This team is much deeper than the last few years," said Hobson. "Our coaches know we have solid players on the bench and it was nice to see players get some opportunities tonight. I was impressed with Emaree and Elise in the second half, both had some really good minutes and impacted the game well."

The Falcons will next host No. 9-ranked and fellow conference unbeaten Oklahoma Wesleyan University in a critical KCAC showdown Wednesday evening (Oct. 9) starting at 5 pm.
