KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Avila University Eagles scored the only two goals of the match in the second half to upend the Friends University 2-0 in KCAC action today (Oct. 31) in Kansas City, Mo.
The Falcons are now in fourth place in the KCAC with an 8-3-1 conference record along with an 11-5-1 overall mark.
Through a scoreless first half, Addison Yinger scored in the 12th minute of the second half to put the Eagles on the board.
Joselyn Clark then finished off the scoring with a goal for Avila at the 75:48 mark.
The Falcons outshot the Eagles 10-8 overall and 7-5 on-goal, but Kenan Ebel made seven saves for Avila (11-3-3, 8-2-2 KCAC) to keep Friends at bay.
Nia Baker stopped three shots with the two goals allowed for the Falcons.
Friends will now wrap up the regular season Saturday night (Nov. 2) vs. Bethany College at 7 pm. The match will be played at Stryker Sports Complex due to expected inclement weather in the Wichita area.
