Box Score McPherson, Kan. – Sora Shibata scored late in the second half to tie the score at 2-2 and that's where things ended up today (Sept. 30) at the McPherson College Bulldogs.
Shibata's game-tying score came at the 76:30 mark off an assist from Futa Kubo.
The match was scoreless through much of the opening half until Alvara Quezada put the Falcons on top with a goal in the 35th minute.
The Falcons carried that lead into the second half until two goals from Anthony Pereira in the 49th and 67th minutes temporarily put the Bulldogs in front.
Friends controlled much of the tempo, outshooting the Bulldogs 20-9 overall and 13-6 on-goal.
Caique Pereira led the Falcons with five shots and three shots-on-goal, with Shibata and Quezada each tallying four shots with three on-goal.
Felipe Garcia recorded four saves for the Falcons (3-3-4, 2-0-3), while Kyle Barron kept the Bulldogs (0-9-2, 0-4-2) close with 11 saves.
Next up for the Falcons is a challenge at No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University Wednesday night (Oct. 4). Kickoff will be at 8 pm in Bartlesville, Okla.
