WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons were dealt a 3-0 setback to the McPherson College Bulldogs today (Sept. 30) inside the Garvey Center.
The Falcons got off to a slow start in the first set and fell behind 11-4 before battling back within 19-16 on a kill by McKenzi Shurley.
It was still a three-point deficit at 22-19 following a kill by Grace McClintock, but two kills by Alex Pak started a 4-1 spurt that finished the opening set 25-20 for McPherson.
The Bulldogs then carried over that late set momentum and won the next two sets 25-14 and 25-9 to finish off the match.
McClintock led the Falcons with nine kills and Zoey Tauanu'u had a team-high 16 assists. Antonia Perier led the way with 13 assists.
The Bulldogs had three players with double-figure kills, led by Pak's 12 kills. Jaden Polovina had a match-high 25 assists and Moriah Delgado led everyone with 18 digs.
Friends will remain at home and host Oklahoma Wesleyan University Wednesday night (Oct. 4) at 7 pm.
