SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – In their second KCAC match of 2023, the Friends University Falcons battled the Evangel University Valor to a hard-fought scoreless tie tonight (Sept. 20) in Springfield, Mo.

The Falcons' final chance came on a header by Caique Pereira that was saved by Anthony Morales with just 1:25 left in the match.

Both teams had plenty of scoring opportunities, with the Falcons holding a 20-11 edge in shot-attempts, with an 11-5 edge on-goal.

Sora Shibata led the Falcons (2-3-2, 1-0-1 KCAC) with five shots along with a pair of shots-on-goal, while Junior Barboza had a team-best four shots for Evangel (4-2-1, 0-2-1 KCAC).

Just Guiting made five saves for the Falcons and Morales stopped 11 shots for Evangel.

The Falcons will next return home and host Bethel College on Homecoming Saturday (Sept 23) at 1:30 pm at Adair-Austin Stadium.
