WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University sophomore forward Rayland Garner has been named the KCAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference office announced today (Nov. 13).

Garner was solid all week offensively for the Falcons, starting with a team-high 18 points in an exhibition outing at NCAA D-I member Oral Roberts University.

The Kingfisher, Okla. native then poured in a game-high 26 points to fuel the Falcons to an impressive 72-68 road victory at Oklahoma City University on Saturday (Nov. 11).

Garner leads the Falcons with 19.7 points per game through three contests thus far and is also shooting a team-leading 53.5 percent (23-of-43) from the field this season.

"Ray's game keeps getting better," said Friends women's basketball head coach Dean Jaderston. "Not only is she attacking the basket and finishing but she's also seeing the floor better. She got us going against Oklahoma City when we were struggling and even though it was an exhibition, there were times she was unstoppable against Oral Roberts."

The Falcons will now open up KCAC action Wednesday evening (Nov. 15) at Kansas Wesleyan University. Tip-off is set for 6 pm in Salina, Kan. After that, it's the KCAC home opener against McPherson College on Saturday (Nov. 18) at 5 pm inside the Garvey Center.
