Jason Parr enters his fifth season as head coach of the Friends University Men's and Women's Cross Country Falcons and as assistant coach for the Track & Field program.

In 2021, Parr guided two women to National Titles in the 600m and 800m which helped lift the women’s program to a 4th Place finish at the Indoor T&F National Championships.

The 2019-20 season saw Parr develop the cross country/distance programs into a national power, winning the women’s KCAC Cross Country title and helping to post a 6th place finish at the NAIA T&F Championships with record-breaking performances in the 4x800m relay, 1000m run and the 3,000m Racewalk. He was honored as the NAIA Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020.

In his debut campaign, Parr guided the Falcon Women to a solid third-place showing in the KCAC, while the Men's CC Falcons posted a top-five finish in the league.

Parr joined the Flacon staff after spending the previous year as the Cross Country and Distance Coach at Maize South High School, which lies just outside the city limits of Wichita, Kansas. Parr led the Maize South Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams to 5A State Titles in 2016, while both his men’s and women’s track programs placed runner-up at the 5A State Track Meet, with distance events being the main contribution to their team score.

His women’s program had an athlete win a state title in the 400, while four other athletes placed within the top four in the state in the 800, 1600, and 3200m races.

Parr's men’s program won state titles in the 400, 1600, 3200 and they were the only team in the state to break 8:00 in the 4x800 relay on their way to the state title.

Prior to Maize South, Parr spent time coaching High School Track/Cross Country in the states of Kentucky and Missouri. Parr competed collegiately for junior college powerhouse Barton County, as well as NAIA member Evangel University in Springfield, Mo., where he was named a distinguished alumni of the kinesiology department in 2015.

Outside of his coaching career, Parr is heavily involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Program and he is currently sponsored by Faith First Gear as he competes in road races and Triathlons around the country.

Parr has two children, Adelynn (13), and Amelia (nine).
