Taylor Candler begins her first season with the Falcons women’s golf team in 2016.

Candler played all four years of her collegiate golf career at the University of Oklahoma. She helped the Sooners to a Big XII Championship title in 2012 and finished in a tie for 21st at the 2012 NCAA Championships in Franklin, Tenn., with a 72-hole score of 294 (+6). The following year, Candler and the Sooners made their second repeat NCAA Championship appearance in Athens, Ga., where Candler finished in a tie for 32nd with a 72-hole score of 296 (+8).

Candler competed in 38 events during her career at OU and had seven Top-10 finishes and 12 Top-20 finishes. Her best finishes during college was a 3rd place at the Dale McNamara Invitational in 2010 and a 3rd place at the Alamo Invitational in 2012.

Candler earned Academic All-Big XII honors, as well as being selected for the National Golf Coaches Association’s All-America Scholar Team. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Relations in May 2013. Upon undergraduate studies, Candler worked as the OU Women’s & Men’s Graduate Assistant from 2013-2015, where she then graduated with a Masters of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration.

In summer of 2015, she turned professional and played events on the Road to LPGA’s Symetra Tour.

Candler and her husband Charles live in Wichita and are expecting their first child in August 2016.
