Friends University

Holly Smith is entering her second stint as an assistant coach with the Friends University Women’s Basketball team. She was an assistant coach at Friends from 2019-2021 before she took over as the head girls basketball coach at Central Christian Academy for the past three years, leading them to the substate championship game last season. This year she returns to Friends as our lead varsity assistant coach.

Smith played her collegiate basketball career at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. She also played overseas in Perth, Australia before returning to Kansas. She also has an additional Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science which she earned in early 2020 from Oregon State University.

Holly and her husband Lee live in Wichita and have have three beautiful children, Milena, Reece and Julian. When she is not on the court she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.
