Atchison, Kan. - Falcons men's soccer traveled to Atchison to take on the Ravens of Benedictine (RV) after a dominant performance over Central Christian on Wednesday. Friends would start a five game road stint with this out of conference match.
The Falcons would fall to Benedictine 2-1 after making a late push in the 2nd half.
Zach Pedersen would score first for the Ravens in the 22nd minute. Benedictine would go up 2-0 just before the half ended with a goal from Nico Rowe. Friends was outshot 6 to 2 in the 1st half of play.
Friends came out the 2nd half aggressive with two quick shots from Eduardo Enrique Gomez Montt, but couldn't connect. Friends finally broke through with a goal from Tobias Vorel, the defenseman's 1st of the season in the 68th minute. The Falcons would record 8 shots in the 2nd half and hold the Ravens to 0 shots, but ultimately couldn't get it done on the road.
Men's soccer is back to .500 (2-2) and will have their last out of conference game against Missouri Baptist University on Wednesday (Sep. 5). The game will be held in St. Louis at 11:00am at Spartan Field.
