Seward, Neb. & WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons competed at the Concordia University Twilight and the Wichita State Shocker Open as a pair of last chance meets Friday (May 8) in Seward, Neb and in Wichita.
The Falcons achieved their goals, with the Men's and Women's 4 X 400 relay teams each hitting an NAIA B Standard.
For the men, Daniel Castello, Marcus London, Ian Russell and Spencer Hines ran a 3:14.56 to nail a national standard, while Liliana Robinson, Lydia Robinson, Naomi Vagher and Fien Molenberg recorded a national qualifying time of 3:52.39.
Having already posted an NAIA A qualifying mark (3.78m) earlier this season, Aaliyah Ramirez had one final tune up in the Women's Pole Vault and posted a mark of 3.54m at the Wichita State Shocker Open.
Also at the Shocker Open, Denzel Nyamwela participated in the Men's 400m Hurdles (55.47) and Payton Willits posted a mark of 6.67m in the Men's Long Jump.
The Falcons will now turn their attention to the NAIA National Championship meet, set for May 20-22 at the Karl Straus Track in Asheville, N.C. Official national entries will be finalized on Wednesday (May 13).
