LINDSBORG, Kan. – The No. 7 seed Friends University Women's Tennis Falcons saw its season come to an end on today (Apr. 22), falling 4-0 to No. 2 seed Bethel College in the quarterfinals of the KCAC Championship Tournament in Lindsborg, Kan.

The Falcons struggled to gain momentum early, dropping the doubles point to the Threshers. At No. 1 doubles, Daniela Casique and Sara Ladino defeated Aneth Diaz and Silva Avakian, 6-3. Bethel clinched the point at No. 3 doubles, where Grace Dawes and Kate Rowland secured a 6-3 victory over Sydney Rodriguez and Tammy-Ann Lombarth. The No. 2 doubles match, featuring Carlotta Klee and Emma Sargeant against Patty Huerta and Ximena Raya, was left unfinished with Friends leading 5-4.

In singles play, Bethel continued its strong performance, winning all six matches to seal the team victory. At No. 1 singles, Avakian fell to Casique, 6-2, 6-1, while Diaz was defeated by Ladino at No. 2, 7-5, 6-0. Raya earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Klee at No. 3.

The Threshers maintained control in the remaining matches, as Dawes defeated Lombarth 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4, and Huerta topped Sargeant 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5. Jireh Gonzalez completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Alana Ewert at No. 6 singles.

With the win, Bethel advances to the KCAC Tournament semifinals to face No. 3 seed McPherson College.

Women's Tennis concludes its 2025-26 season with an overall record of 8-7.
