Box Score Oklahoma City, Okla. - Friends baseball squared up against Oklahoma City University for the 3rd time this season, last time played in January. This game would be far different from the previous two games. The Falcons would complete the season sweep on the Stars winning this game in a 16-12 slug fest.
With Friends being the visitors this time they would get off to a quick start getting two runs in the top of the 1st.
Elijah Morales would hit a 2-RBI double to put the Falcons up 2-0, this would be Morales' 1st hit of his perfect 4-4 day at the plate. The Stars answered right back with a pair of RBI singles to tie the game.
The Falcons would continue to score runs in the 2nd inning with a
Miles Hartman RBI single that would score
Drew Lykes.
Xavier Champ would score off of a fielder's choice to bring the Falcons lead back up to two. Both teams would put up zeros in the 3rd inning, Friends lead 4-2.
In the 4th inning the Stars took the lead with a four run 4th. A 2-RBI single from Eli Hill would tie the game for the Stars and give them some momentum. A sac fly and sac bunt would give the Stars two more runs to give them a 6-4 lead.
The Falcons didn't let the Stars keep that lead for long, in the 5th inning they would answer back with a monstrous eight run inning.
Elijah Morales would start the inning with a double and
Colton Flores would later hit him in with a single.
Drew Lykes hit a one out 2-RBI double to score
Holden Sabor and
Davis Chakos. Lykes would later score a run on a wild pitch from the Stars pitcher.Â
The top of the order would get a chance in this big Falcons rally with two outs.
Miles Hartman,
Camden Miller, and
Bernie Socarras would all get the bases loaded for
Elijah Morales who had hit earlier in the same inning. Morales would walk to score Hartman and the bases would stay loaded for the Falcons.
Hudson Sharp would join the hit parade, slashing a single to score Socarras.
Colton Flores would grab his 2nd single of the inning to score Morales and this would cap off the 8 run, 8 hit inning for the Falcons giving them a 12-6 lead.Â
The Stars would chip back the lead with a 2-run home run from Wyatt Pace bringing the score to 12-8 after five innings.Â
Friends would continue to move the bats in the top of the 6th,
Camden Miller would hit a 2-RBI double and later score a run on a wild pitch. The three run Falcon 6th brought their lead back up to seven runs.Â
Friends would cap off their run scoring in the 7th inning,
Holden Sabor would hit his 1st triple of the season that would score Chakos, Friends would go up 16-8. Friends would accumulate 16 runs on 18 hits with their offensive explosion in this bout.
The Stars would score four more runs in the last two innings, but the Falcon lead would be too much to overcome. Friends would win the game 16-12, with big performances from the top half of the order by
Elijah Morales and
Camden Miller. All of Morales' hits would be XBH (3 doubles, 1 triple) as he leads the Falcons in RBI's with 34. Miller would go 2-3 hitting for two doubles and scoring three runs.Â
The Falcons will have a long home stand in the month of April. Friends will have 11 straight home games as they thrive in Wichita with a 14-9 home record. The Falcons will look to move up the KCAC standings in this big stretch as the season inches closer to the postseason. The next opponent for the Falcons will be Avila on Friday
