Box Score Sterling, Kan. - In a Tuesday afternoon affair
(Mar. 24) Friends baseball went to Sterling for a game before a series against Tabor coming up this weekend. This one was forgettable as the Falcons were run ruled in seven innings.
The Falcons and Warriors both posted zeros in the 1st inning, but the Sterling 2nd inning was the major contributor in this Falcons loss. Sterling scored 11 runs on six hits in the 2nd to put them up big very early in the game. Three home runs capped off this big inning for the Warriors as they looked to avenge a loss they received earlier this year by Friends.
The Falcons bats got going in the 4th inning with
Camden Miller hitting a lead off single,
Elijah Morales would reach on a hit by pitch.
Colton Flores would drive in both of them with a 2RBI double. Flores would drive in his 9th and 10th RBI's of the season with this double.Â
Sterling would answer back to achieve the run rule by grabbing two runs in the bottom half of the 4th and one in the 5th. Sterling would shut down the Falcons after the offensive spurt in the 4th, only allowing one more hit the rest of the game.Â
The Warriors would end up winning this one 14-2 after seven innings. Friends (15-17) KCAC (10-9) is still above .500 in KCAC conference record. The Falcons are still top 6 in the conference standings as they have a big series against Tabor College coming up this weekend. Friends will play them on Friday
(Mar. 27) at 4:00 here in Wichita at West Side Athletic Field.Â
