WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior guard Collin Maclin has been named the KCAC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced today (Feb. 9). All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions.
Maclin's week was highlighted by a career-high 35 points in a 96-84 victory at Ottawa University for the No. 17-ranked Falcons.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Maclin shot an efficient 13-18 (72.2 percent) from the field in the win and also contributed eight rebounds and three assists. He averaged 22.2 points per game, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists overall across two wins for the Falcons.
He is currently second on the team in both scoring (14.7 ppg) and rebounds (5.3 rpg) this season.
"Collin had a great week for us which led us to two road wins," said Friends men's basketball head coach Phil McClintock. "He was one of my first recruits when I took over at Friends so I'm proud to see how much he has grown as a man and a player in these three years."
Maclin and the Falcons, now 19-5 overall and tied for second in the KCAC at 14-4 in the league, will now begin a three-game homestand starting Wednesday night (Feb. 11) vs. Sterling College. Tip-off is set for 8 pm inside the Garvey Center.
