Wichita, Kan. - It was senior night in Wichita as both wrestling programs took on the Braves from Ottawa, a pivotal KCAC conference matchup for both programs with multiple top 25 match ups. For senior night, Friends University honored nine total seniors from both programs.
Men's Wrestling led off the doubleheader and at the 125 lb bout, ranked No. 21, Senior Braden Ledford started the Falcons off strong with a Tech Fall. Giving Friends a 5-0 lead.
No. 12 Braydon Pacheco kept up his dominance wrestling up at 133 lbs. Grabbing nearfall in every period led to his Tech Fall win of 21-4. Friends up 10-0 after two matches.
No. 17 Wyatt Gardner kept it going for the Falcons as he grabbed a major decision victory of 19-6, giving Friends a 14-0 lead.
No. 14 Cayleb Atkins turned it up a notch in this dual grabbing a pinfall for the Falcons in just 1:26.
At the 184 lb weight class there was a top 25 matchup between Jason Bowers and Ottawa's Julian Gorring. Gorring would defeat Bowers in a 12-6 decision.
Friends Men's wrestling would remain undefeated in the KCAC (2-0), defeating the Braves 33-12.

Friends Women's wrestling (RV) battled against a top 15 ranked Ottawa program. Ultimately going down in a 30-12 defeat.
In the 110 lb bout, Anissa Robinson kept up her dominance with a pinfall bringing the score to a tie 5-5.
Ottawa would grab two crucial falls in the dual the next two matches, bringing the score to 15-5.
Daizy Gomez would turn things around for the Falcons in the 131 lb weight class, earning a tech fall in just 60 seconds. Cutting the lead to six for the Falcons.
No. 18 Alexis Means won her match via tech fall in just under three minutes. Bringing the score to 19-12 Braves.
That would be the rest of the scoring for Friends, going down swinging in a tough battle against a very good Braves program.
