WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University sophomore Jace Martin has been voted as the KCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week, announced today (Sept. 22) by the conference office. All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Equity Bank.
Martin set the tone early, returning the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown that put the No. 7-ranked Falcons on their way to a 59-15 victory at Tabor College on Saturday (Sept. 20). He is now averaging 62 yards on two kickoff returns this season for the Falcons.
The Gunter, Texas native also has 159 rushing yards on the season and two touchdowns, including a 69-yard scoring burst in the Falcons' 73-14 season-opening victory over Bethany College.
The Falcons will next host (RV) Evangel University next Saturday (Sept. 27) at 6 pm at Adair-Austin Stadium.
