Hillsboro, Kan. — The No. 8-ranked Friends University Falcons overwhelmed the Tabor College Bluejays 59-15 to improve to 4-0 on the season today (Sept. 20) in Hillsboro, Kan.
Friends (KS) dominated the first quarter, beginning with
Jace Martin's electrifying 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown just 15 seconds into the game.
Truitt Bosher's successful extra point made it 7–0. Friends capitalized on their momentum with
Nick Cordova's powerful 21-yard touchdown run at 11:13, extending their lead to 14–0 . The Falcon defense showcased their strength with
Andrew Arnold intercepting a pass and returning it 26 yards for a touchdown at 10:17, further increasing the lead.
Michael Lopez added to the scoring with a 59-yard touchdown run at 7:46, and
K'Vonte Baker capped the quarter with a 19-yard touchdown run at 3:06, as Friends closed the first quarter with a commanding 35–0 advantage.
In the second quarter, Friends continued to exhibit its offensive power, beginning with a 73-yard burst by
Kaden Rigsby to place them deep in the Bluejays' territory. Despite a holding penalty, Friends capitalized with a 24-yard field goal by Bosher, putting them ahead 38-0 at 10:17. Shortly after, Baker extended the lead further with a 68-yard scoring run at 7:04, followed by another touchdown from Cordova with just 41 seconds on the clock. Friends ended the half with a commanding 52-0 lead.
In the fourth quarter,
Walker Overman rushed for a 1-yard touchdown to close out the Falcons' scoring for the day.
