For me, coaching was never about the Xs and Os.
It was about the kids.
I've always been passionate about helping them grow and develop, both as athletes and as individuals. Every day, I have the opportunity to inspire the next generation of leaders and make a difference in their lives.
There's nothing I'd rather be doing.
That's why I've spent my entire career working with student-athletes. Whether it's in the classroom or on the field, I've always been committed to helping kids achieve their goals and become the best versions of themselves.
And that's exactly why I was so excited to return to Friends University as the women's golf coach.
I have always admired Friends University's commitment to its students and the emphasis on character development. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a special community, and I can't wait to get started.
Build a Winning Culture
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of coaching a variety of sports, from football to basketball to track and field to golf.
Each sport is unique and has its own set of challenges and rewards. As the women's golf coach at Friends University, I'm excited to work with a smaller team and have the opportunity to make a more individualized impact on each player.
Golf is a sport that requires a unique set of skills and mental fortitude, and I'm excited to help my players develop those skills and grow as individuals. But more than that, I'm looking forward to building a culture of excellence and teamwork that will help our team succeed both on and off the course.
My goal is to recruit high-quality student-athletes who will thrive on the Friends University campus and contribute to the community in meaningful ways. I want to help my players not only improve their golf game, but also grow as individuals and prepare for their future beyond college.
Just as important as recruiting is retaining our athletes and helping them through the entire process of earning their college degree. We want them to be here and succeed in every aspect of campus life, from the classroom to the dorms to the golf course.
Leaving a Legacy
As I embark on this new chapter of my coaching career, I can't help but think about the impact that my predecessor, Paul Howe, had on the women's golf program at Friends University.
Paul was a dear friend and one of the kindest men I've ever known. He laid the groundwork for this program and built it into what it is today. It's an honor and a privilege to follow in his footsteps, and I'm committed to continuing his legacy of excellence and dedication to our student-athletes.
I'm excited for the challenge and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our players. At the end of the day, that's what coaching is all about. It's about helping young men and women reach their full potential and become the best versions of themselves.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to do that here at Friends University, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for our women's golf program.
