WICHITA, Kan. – The No. 4-ranked Friends University Falcons continued their best start to a season since 2008 with a 63-6 victory over the (RV) Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes yesterday (Nov. 1) at Equity Bank Park in Wichita. The Falcons are now 9-0 on the season and 3-0 in the KCAC Bissell Division.

Below are the top takeaways from the Falcons' latest big victory in the KCAC:

Wire to Wire Dominance: The Falcon defense halted the Coyotes' opening drive on fourth and one from the Friends 24, proceeded to score on their own first possession and never looked back from there. This was never in doubt, the Falcons led 21-0 at the end of the first quarter and 42-0 at halftime on the way to the 63-6 rout.

Another Career Milestone: Wichita Heights product K'Vonte Baker added another important footnote to his career as the Falcon quarterback, matching his career-high with five total touchdowns (three rushing, two passing) with an even distribution of 118 rushing yards and 111 yards through the air. Baker made the most of his two completions, hitting Michael Lopez with a 51-yard touchdown pass and then E'derian Sykes for a 61-yard score.

Changing of the Guard: Heading into last season, the Coyotes had won nine straight over the Falcons until Cole Thompson booted a 40-yard field goal as time expired to allow Friends to escape with a 28-26 victory to halt the skid. Following yesterday's 63-6 win, the Falcons appear to have turned a corner in the series.

Lehman's Terms: Sophomore defensive back Kasey Lehman recorded two interceptions in the Falcons' win yesterday, highlighted by an 83-yard pick six on the Coyotes' first possession of the second half that made it 49-0.

A lot of Equity: The Falcons have now outscored the opposition 129-23 in their two games at Equity Bank Park (formerly Riverfront Stadium). Friends won 66-17 over McPherson in 2023 and then 63-6 yesterday over Kansas Wesleyan.

Up Next: The Falcons will play their final regular season home game next Saturday (Nov. 8) at 1 pm vs. Sterling College at Adair-Austin Stadium.
