Football Falcons make first-ever top five appearance in NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Add another historic layer to head coach Terry Harrison's tenure as the Friends University Falcons have entered the top five of the Netting Professionals NAIA Coaches' Top 25 poll for the first time in program history, the national office released today (Oct. 6).

The Falcons remained unbeaten at 6-0 on the season following a methodical 28-7 victory at Ottawa University on Saturday (Oct. 4).

The lofty ranking comes as the Falcons boast perhaps the most balanced team in the nation.  Friends currently ranks first in the NAIA in points per game (56.2 ppg) and second in points allowed per game (7.2 ppg).

The Falcons are also the nation's top rushing team at 488 yards per game, a full 200 yards ahead of second place Taylor (Ind.). Additionally, the Falcons are the nation's stingiest team to run against, giving up a miniscule 19.5 rushing yards per game that results in leading the NAIA in total yards allowed per game (155.3) while pressuring the quarterback to the tune of an NAIA-leading 26 sacks on the season.

The Falcons will next have a bye before playing host on Homecoming Saturday (Oct. 18) to No. 24-ranked and fellow unbeaten McPherson College in what is shaping up to be a crucial KCAC Bissell Division-opening contest at Adair-Austin Stadium.
