WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons took care of the Evangel University Valor 2-0 in their KCAC home opening match tonight (Sept. 25) at Adair-Austin Stadium to run their record to 2-0 in the KCAC and 5-2 overall.
The match was scoreless until Alexa Fonseca put in her first career goal from Keily Larosee to put the Falcons on top in the 35th minute.
Larosee, the Falcons' all-time modern-era goals leader, recorded her 49th career score at the 62:13 mark off an assist from Kieley Aranda to effectively put the match away for Friends.
The Falcons controlled possession throughout, outshooting the Valor 21-3 overall behind five shots apiece from Larosee and Anahi Ibarra-Arevalo. Friends also outshot Evangel 9-2 on-goal.
Morgan Wilkinson stopped both shots-on-goal she faced for the Falcons, while Rylee Clapp made seven saves with two goals allowed for the Valor (1-5-1, 0-3 KCAC).
Friends is next in action Saturday morning (Sept. 28) at Bethel College, with the match set for 11 am in North Newton, Kan.
