WICHITA, Kan. – The McPherson College Bulldogs scored two runs in the 10th inning to pull out a 3-1 win over the Friends University Falcons in the opening tilt of a three-game series on Senior Day today (Apr. 19) at West Side Athletic Field.

In a 1-1 game with runners on first and second in the 10th frame, Evan Morrison doubled home both runs for his fourth hit of the day.

Brock Selstrom then retired the Falcons in order in the bottom half of the 10th to close out the game and earn the save.

Andres Artola had given the Bulldogs an early lead with a two-out, solo home run in the first inning.

Daniel Jaime then settled in and kept the Bulldogs off the board until the 10th to keep the Falcons in the game.

The Falcons managed to tie the score in the eighth inning on an RBI single by Niquan Benjamin that plated Nijai Armbrister, who had reached on a pinch-hit single.

Jaime was a tough luck loser, as the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. native lasted into the 10th inning, giving up three runs and striking out five while walking just one.

Carlos Rodriguez led the Falcons with two hits today.

Friends (28-18, 19-15 KCAC) and McPherson (19-25, 15-16 KCAC) will wrap the conference series with a doubleheader tomorrow (Apr. 20) starting at noon.
