OKLAHOMA CITY – The Friends University Falcons lost 11-1 in a non-conference matchup at the Mid-America Christian University Evangels today (Feb. 20) in Oklahoma City.
D'Andre Gaines started the scoring for the Evangels with a solo homer in the first inning and then crossed the plate on a two-run blast by Noel McGarry-Doyle that finished seven unanswered runs to begin the game.
Zeke Henson scored on an error in the fifth to help the Falcons (10-4) avoid the shutout before the Evangels (9-4) scored a run in the bottom of the fifth and then three more in the seventh to finish the game.
Gaines went 3-of-4 at the plate to lead the Evangel offensive attack.
Spencer Davidson got his first start of the season for Friends and went two innings with two runs allowed.
The Falcons will next begin a three-game weekend series at Oklahoma Wesleyan University starting with a single-game Friday (Feb. 23) at 2 pm in Bartlesville, Okla.
