Alva, Okla. -- The Friends University Falcons were tripped up 73-42 in an exhibition game at the NCAA D-II Northwestern Oklahoma State University Lady Rangers today (Nov. 30) in Alva, Okla.

The Falcons held a pair of leads in the first quarter until the Lady Rangers scored five straight points to take a 12-8 lead.

Following a layup by Lauryn McIver and one free throw by Taylor Jackson, a three by Tegan Jones gave NWOSU a 15-11 lead at the end of one quarter.

The Lady Rangers continued to expand the lead and opened the second period on a 10-3 spurt to lead by 11 at the 3:47 mark.

After a layup by Anna Sant'Anna briefly halted the run, Carly Craig hit three-pointers to open and close a 10-2 run that stretched the NWOSU lead up to 35-18 at the break.

Five quick points from Kori Babock helped the Falcons open the third quarter on a 7-1 burst, but five straight points from Camille Thomas fueled a 7-2 run to push the Lady Ranger lead back to 16.

NWOSU continued to pull away and finished the third period with a 8-1 run to lead 51-30.

Five points from Craig and another three by Jones then increased the lead to 60-32 to put the game away.

Babcock led the Falcons with 14 points and Jackson had a double-double of 10 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks. McIver also swatted four shots with eight boards for Friends, while Abigail Barr finished with nine rebounds.

Craig paced four Lady Rangers in double-figure scoring with 14 points.

The Falcons outrebounded NWOSU 51-41, but the Lady Rangers held a 34-0 edge in points off turnovers.

Friends, 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the KCAC, will resume conference action next Wednesday evening (Dec. 4) for a 6 pm tip-off at Bethel College in North Newton, Kan.
