Ottawa, Kan. – The Ottawa University Braves won 3-0 over the Friends University Falcons tonight (Oct. 23) in Ottawa, Kan.
The Braves bested the Falcons 25-20 and 25-18 in the first two sets before winning the third set 25-13 to finish the match.
Friends got a team-high eight kills from Sofia Mekelburg and 13 assists by Maddy Strecker. Tehya Johnson recorded 10 assists and Antonia Perier led the Falcons (12-13, 2-6 KCAC) with 14 digs.
Ariana Arciniega paced the Braves with 19 kills, while Madison Brauner (18 assists) and Loranie Ruiz (17 assists) facilitated the offense. Kenzie Kuxhaus had a team-leading 17 digs for Ottawa (12-10, 6-2 KCAC).
The Falcons will next host a Senior Day Tri Saturday (Oct. 26) with Kansas Wesleyan University and Haskell Indian Nations University. Friends will face KWU at 1 pm and then Haskell at 6 pm, with Senior Day recognitions scheduled prior to the Haskell matchup.
