North Newton, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons fell 3-0 at the Bethel College Threshers in KCAC action today (Sept. 23) in North Newton, Kan.
The Falcons hung in the first set, trailing just 18-17 until three kills from Cam Offerle sparked a 7-2 end to the frame and a 25-19 win.
Bethel then capitalized on that momentum and won the next two sets 25-14 and 25-13 to finish off the match.
McKenzi Shurley and Abigail Ellermann each had five kills for the Falcons, with Zoey Tauanu'u delivering 10 assists. Antonia Perier had a team-high eight digs for Friends.
Kylah Carter had a team-best nine kills for Bethel, while Mia Roman and Kaitlyn Shima each had a match-high 18 assists. Katey Wilhelm led everyone with 17 digs for the Threshers.
The Falcons will next be at the University of Saint Mary on Wednesday night (Sept. 27) at 7 pm in Leavenworth, Kan. before returning home to face McPherson College Saturday (Sept. 30) at 2 pm
