Box Score 2 San Marcos, Calif. – The Friends University Falcons came up on the short end in a pair of matches today (Sept. 2) to Ottawa University (Ariz.) and Vanguard University at the USK Labor Day Tourney in San Marcos, Calif.
In the first match against Ottawa, the Falcons fell 25-13, 25-19 and 25-16.
Samantha Johnson had a team-high six kills and Zoey Tauanu'u recorded 14 assists. Antonia Perier and Greely Munroe each had 10 digs for the Falcons.
Vanguard then improved to 10-1 on the season with a 25-12, 25-11 and 25-18 win in the Falcons' final match of the tourney.
It was Payton Robbins leading Friends with six kills and Emmah Sultz tallying a team-best seven assists. Perier managed a match-high 10 digs for the Falcons.
The Falcons will next open up the home portion of the 2023 schedule Wednesday night (Sept. 6) at 7 pm vs. Central Christian College.
