Orange City, Iowa – The Friends University Women's Soccer Falcons fell 3-0 at the Northwestern College (Iowa) Red Raiders tonight (Sept. 2) in Orange City, Iowa.
The match was scoreless through the first half, but the Red Raiders quickly got on the board after halftime on a goal by Aliza Edwards just 3:46 into the second half.
Julie Dunlap then quickly broke it open for Northwestern with two goals just four minutes apart in the 54th and 58th minutes.
The Falcons lost despite holding advantages in both overall shots and shots-on-goal.
Hanon Nakagami had a team-high six shots for Friends, with Dunlap leading everyone with seven shot attempts for the Red Raiders.
Nia Baker started at goalkeeper for the Falcons and played the first half before giving way to Morgan Wilkinson in the second half, who made eight saves with three goals allowed. Abby Bastian recorded nine stops for Northwestern.
The Falcons will next open up KCAC action at home vs. Tabor College on Sept. 16. Kickoff will be at 5 pm at Adair-Austin Stadium.
