WICHITA, Kan. – It was only fitting that the Friends University Falcons' three-time KCAC Offensive Player of the Week winner would spark a KCAC quarterfinal round win, and that's exactly what Keily Larosee did in a 2-0 victory this evening (Nov. 4) over the Southwestern College Lady Builders at Adair-Austin Stadium.

Larosee scored both goals in the Falcons' win, starting with a pinpoint blast from Hanon Nakagami at the 37:22 mark of the match.

"I thought our first goal was a quality build up with Hanon and Yairee (Perez) setting up Keily," said Friends women's soccer head coach Brent Hobson.

It stayed a 1-0 lead through the remainder of the first half until Larosee struck again with a successful penalty kick 9:46 into the second half.

The shot-attempts were even at 6-6, with the Falcons holding a 4-2 edge on-goal.

Nia Baker continued her stout defense in the net, highlighted by a powerful save of a penalty kick attempt by Bryanna Kuhn with 1:21 left in the match to preserve the shutout victory for the Falcons.

Mallorie Lund also made two saves for the Lady Builders, who end their season at 7-6-4 overall.

"Looking at the box score you can tell it was a competitive and physical postseason match," said Hobson. "I thought Pilar (Flores) and Lauryn (Erickson) played very well in the midfield. Overall just a solid postseason match."

The Falcons, unbeaten in the KCAC for the first time in the modern era (since 2004), will now set their sights on the KCAC semifinals against sixth-seeded Kansas Wesleyan University, who upset the third-seeded University of Saint Mary Spires earlier tonight 1-0. The semifinal round vs. KWU is set for Wednesday night (Nov. 8) starting at 7:30 pm at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita.
