Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Friends University Falcons were tripped up in three sets at the Avila University Eagles tonight (Oct. 25) in Kansas City, Mo.
The Eagles won by an identical 25-15 score in the first two sets before winning the third 25-13.
The Falcons were led by six kills each from Emily Robbins and McKenzi Shurley, with Zoey Tauanu'u putting in a team-high 17 assists. Antonia Perier (21 digs) and Anicia Tyson-Salas (13 digs) led Friends defensively.
Nine kills apiece from Diamond Sedlak and Daphne Gardner paced the Eagles' offense, while Gardner also had a match-high 27 assists. Abigail Blake led Avila with 14 digs on the night.
The Falcons will next celebrate Senior Day Saturday (Oct. 28) with a tri-match against Bethany College and Haskell Indian Nations University. First is a 2 pm match vs. Bethany before closing the night out at 6 pm against Haskell. Bethany and Haskell will face each other at 4 pm and the Falcons' JV squad plays at noon.
